Bali Taman Sari Buwana -Traditional Farming Village Life"Om Swastyastu" Is an authentic greeting of Balinese people once entering the village.
Taman Sari Buwana is a semi social activity which is developed related to sustainable tourism concept. The tourist attraction offered is referring to the potential resources of the village itself, both natural and human resources. Through this alternative tourism will do hope elevate both local skill as well as economic scale of the village. Taman Sari Buwana was started by a local man Ketut with his past experience in the tourism tourism industry he saw an opportunity to showcase the traditional life of Balinese people from this environmental and culturally harmonic tourist attraction. Some of the money earn from these activities are then allocated to support education, social activities, and other resources required by the village particularly for the children. Every Sunday the children gather in the family compound to get introductory lesson about Computers, English, Chinese, Arithmetic as well as positive mentality building. Your participation, suggestion or other kind of support is very much appreciated. |
Tour Schedule:
- Pick up at your hotel, drive to our ATV / Quad location near Ubud with driver in air-conditioned vehicle.
- Arrive at our Bali ATV / Quad location for refreshments and meet your guides for the day.
- Instructional skills shall be given for ATV / Quad driving. Please ensure you are comfort or ask additional assistance.
- Begin the Bali Quad / ATV experience driving through forest, rice-fileds, river, mud track, and more.
- Lunch is provided with Indonesian buffet food and mineral water.
- The last stage of this adventurous day is to return you to your hotel and look forward to your next adventure.
Balinese Traditional Farming Methods & Subak System:
Walking along with local farmers in a farmer hat and equipment toward the rice field could be something new for you. Further more, get involve with them in traditionally rice cultivating process using buffalo to plough the fields, smoothing the surface and planting the rice seedlings. |
Balinese Tropical Fruit, Herbs, & Spices Plantation:
Enrich your knowledge of the local produce grown in Bali. You will see a number of tropical fruits and spices grown in the family plantation including pineapples, coconuts, bananas, casava, chilies, water spinach and much more. We will also demonstrate climbing a coconut tree, then we will serve you a young coconut as refreshment. |
Traditional Method of Boiling or Baking Casava:
It is a farmer’s philosophy, to get away from hunger, after bringing back the cows to their shelter, the farmer usually busy himself to have a very simple yet delicious refreshment, boiled cassava. He will take you for taking off cassava then boil or bake it in traditional way. Do yourself then taste it. |

Combine Trekking with the Village & Farming Package: 800.000 IDR / $80 AUD ̶1̶.̶7̶0̶0̶.̶0̶0̶0̶ ̶I̶D̶R̶ ̶/̶ ̶$̶1̶7̶0̶ ̶A̶U̶D̶ The trek starts at Taman Sari Buwana, Tunjuk village in an area which remains traditional uninterrupted by typical tourist activities. After self preparation you will then lead to trek to Subak Kelasem, where you can enjoy rice field panorama with metekap activity (plow over using two cows) by local farmers From Subak Kelasem you will trek toward to Subak Babakan by passing through a small river and an holy temple. A different panorama of rice field with blue mountain back ground could be enjoyed from this area. Walking along the rice field you will see a subak temple where usually farmers offer an offering as thanksgiving to the rice God, Dewi Sri. Incase by chance you see this activity; you may get involve with them. From Subak Babakan you will continue the trek to water dam. The trek will pass through coconut plantation where a local will show a coconut tree climbing attraction. Young coconut drink is served here as refreshment. After enjoying the water dam surrounding then you will continue the trek by walking along a riverside until reaching pig farming. You may ask some questions to the staff there. Just few steps from the pig farming there is a Hindu cemetery located. Your walking will pass on that cemetery. A different view of rice field with coconut trees back ground could be enjoyed from end of cemetery till reaching end side of the Beng Village. Then you will walk along the village while enjoy the village atmosphere and activities. Reaching the other side of village, you may get involve with a Balinese family in making offering and jajan (Balinese rice cake). A traditional set menu lunch is served with a Balinese family before of your trek at Taman Sari Buwana. |
