Bali beaches are known all over the world for many reasons, the first tourists to Bali were drawn by the great surf locations and tropical beauty as well as the vibrant local Hindu culture.

The beaches range from the black volcanic soils to pristine white sand secluded bays rarely frequented and then beautiful rocky cliffs each with their own mystique and natural beauty.

Often tourists only visit the main tourist beaches and miss out on seeing some of the other amazing sites over the island. We wish to share some of the beaches with you that are little frequented by tourists and can create a beautiful addition to your travels in Bali.

Amed Beach
Location: Amed is situated approx. 3 ½ hours from Kuta on the East Coast.
Amed is in beautiful remote location and has a reputation of being one of the best snorkeling and diving areas in Bali. The beach here is a black sand and somewhat rocky beach in most areas from the volcanic activity within the region. Views over the mountains and the quiet traditional location make this beautiful.

Balangan Beach
Location: Balangan is situated approx. 45 minutes South of Kuta.
Balangan Beach is lined with numerous traditional warungs in bamboo thatched huts that selling Indonesian food and drinks. The beach is predominantly frequented by surfers for the great waves as the beach contains amounts of rock but at high tide offers swimming opportunities. Great lookout spot on an outcrop over the beach.

Bias Tugel Beach
Location: Situated 1 hour from Kuta just before the Padang Bai Port.
A beautiful white sand beach mostly with surf of shore and a nice swimming area as well as snorkeling opportunities. The beach is mainly frequented sun-seekers looking to enjoy the tranquil beautiful location. On the beach you will also find several traditional warungs selling Indonesian food and drinks.

Bingin Beach
Location: Situated approx. 45 mins from Kuta near Dreamland Beach.
Bingin is a photographer’s paradise mostly only known by surfers though well worth visiting for those who love the waves and those who do not. The beach offers great waves for surfers on the reef however there is still room for swimmers to enjoy the tropical waters before the reef starts.

Dream Beach
Location: Nusa Lembongan Island.
Just a short boat ride from Bali is Nusa Lembongan. With many beautiful beaches Dream Beach is one of many that offer great swimming, snorkeling, and surfing options on the Island. Enjoy the more relaxed pace of Nusa Lembongan much less populated than the busy tourist areas of Bali.

Dreamland Beach
Location:
 situated approx. 30 minutes South of Kuta near Pecatu.
Dreamland Beach has seen much development over the last few years. Once lined with surf shacks and small traditional warungs now large hotels dominate the area. It is still a beautiful location none the less though change has occurred the white sands and blue waters are inviting for swimming or surfing.

Geger Beach
Location:
 situated approx. 30 minutes South of Kuta near Pecatu.
Geger Beach is a beautiful white sand beach known for its calm waters ideal for swimming. Like many beaches in Bali the beach was once quiet and home to seaweed farmers however now 2 large hotels the Mulia & Regis dominate the beach. Still a beautiful place to enjoy though now commercial with cafes & spa.

Jimbaran Beach
Location:
 situated approx. 25 minutes South East of Kuta.
Jimbaran beach is famous for its fresh seafood market and restaurants that line the beachfront. This becomes a magical place for a seafood dinner dining on the sands of the beach as the sun goes down. The beach also offers good swimming and relaxing with sun lounges on the beach in the daytime.

Kuta Beach
Location: Located right in Kuta. You cannot miss it.
Kuta beach is known all around the world and is the busiest beach in Bali. Restaurants, hotels and shops line the street back from Kuta beach and on the beach, there are sellers with food, drinks, souvenirs and more. The beach offers good swimming & surfing for beginner to advanced level with a sand beach break.

Legian Beach
Location: Located in Legian 10-minute walk from Kuta Beach. Linked to Kuta beach.
Legian Beach is on the same stretch of sand as Kuta Beach just a little quieter. Again restaurants, hotels and shops line the street back from the beach, on the beach there are sellers with food, drinks, souvenirs and more. The beach offers good swimming & surfing for beginner to advanced level with a sand beach break.

Lovina Beach
Location: Lovina is located approx. 3.5 to 4 hours North of Kuta.
Lovina Beach is a yellow sand beach located on the Northern tip of Bali. Although far from the central area this is a popular tourist location much more traditional the beach here is a good place to see dolphins in the wild in Bali. The area has all tourist facilities and prices are generally cheaper than the central tourist area.

Nyang-Nyang Beach
Location: Located approx. 45 minutes from Kuta near Puri Villas.
Nyang-Nyang Beach is known for its white sandy beach and great waves for surfing. Located at the western part of Bukit Peninsula, facing the Indian Ocean. This beach is still quiet and undeveloped as currently the access is somewhat difficult walking through a field and down basic steps carved into the cliff face.

Padang-Padang Beach
Location: Located approx. 45 minutes from Kuta in Pecatu.
Padang Padang Beach is a popular tourist location the entrance to the beach passes through a semi open limestone cave. The beach is around 100 meters in length with white sand and clear blue waters. Off shore there is also one of the best surfing waves in Bali. Seen in the film Eat, Pray, Love – Julia Roberts

Pandawa Beach
Location: Located approx. 45 minutes from Kuta in Pecatu.
Previously called secret beach before a road was carved into the limestone cliff this is now popular with tourists. Carved into the limestone hills you will view statues of Pandawa characters from Mahabaratha story. The beach has white sand, blue waters calm for swimming and a surf break offshore.

Sanur Beach
Location: Located approx. 30 minutes North East of Kuta.
Sanur is much quieter than Kuta, Legian, Seminyak however still with many restaurants, shops, markets etc many of which line the beachfront. The locations range from cheap local warungs to high-class dining allowing something for all tastes. The beach offers great swimming particularly for children with calm waters.

Seminyak Beach
Location: 10 min walk from Legian Beach. Linked to Legian & Kuta Beaches.
Seminyak Beach is again on the same stretch of sand as Kuta and Legian Beach though a more upmarket area with not as many beach sellers and instead restaurants of mid to high quality along the beach. The beach offers good swimming & surfing for beginner to advanced level with a sand beach break.

Suluban Beach (Blue Point Beach) 
Location: Located approx. 45 minutes South of Kuta.
Suluban Beach also called Blue Point is a popular tourist place. To get to this beach you must descend a large number of stairs past several cafe's with clifftop views over the beach. The beach is white sand and 1 small area for swimming. The beach is very popular with surfers also with a great reef break.

Tanjung Benoa Beach
Location: Located approx. 30 minutes South of Kuta.
Tanjung Benoa has long white sections of coastline and calm waters ideal for swimming with young children but most popular for water sports. With jet skis, banana boats, wind surfing, water skiing, wake boarding, parasailing and more! Please take our warning. The sellers here will rip you off, ask us before you go!

Ungasan Beach
Location: Located approx. 40 minutes South of Kuta.
Ungasan beach is the location of numerous high-class resorts such as Ayana and Karma Kandara resorts and also home to great beach clubs like Nammos and Finn's. The beach is a beautiful pristine white sand beach surrounded by the cliff on either side of the long stretch of white sand.
